Patricia Ann Nelson

Patricia “Patti” A. Nelson, 84, of Duluth, died Monday, Oct. 10^th at her home, with her family by her side.  Patti was born Jan. 2, 1938 in Duluth to Paul and Caroline Nelson.  She was a graduate of Duluth Central High School.  Patti worked two years as a social worker, long-term as a certified chemical dependency counselor and retired in 2003 as Director of Chemical Dependency at Miller Dwan.

She was a member of St, John’s Church and AA.  She enjoyed gardening, reading, children, and most of all, spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Caroline (Peterson) Nelson and Paul Egle Nelson, siblings, Kenneth Nelson, Caroline Johnson, Margaret Lisle, Paul Nelson Jr., Theodore Nelson, Raymond Nelson, Faye Cich, Mary Nelson, Janet Dixon, Violet Rogero, and Richard Nelson, Edward Nelson; daughter in law Lori and infant son, Sam.

Patti is survived by her children, Mark DeLuca, Frank (Leila) DeLuca Sr., Christopher (Connie) DeLuca, Timothy DeLuca, Theresa DeLuca, Pamela (David) Martin and David (Anita) DeLuca.; grandchildren, Nicholas, Emily, Rachel, Samuel, Frank Jr., Chiara, Cory, James DeLuca, Lisa (Brad) Williams, Ryan (Azadeh)DeLuca, Sean Hennessy and David DeLuca; 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and friends.  She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 14^th from 5-7 p.m. at Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E 2^nd St., Duluth, MN 55805 and continues Friday, Oct. 14^th, from 10am to the 11am Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1 W Chisholm St. Duluth, MN.  Memorials are preferred to the Solvay Hospice House.
