Patrick Plys

d. January 6, 2012

On Friday Jan. 6, Patrick Plys, 48, of Duluth met Jesus after a 17 year battle with brain cancer. He lived a beautiful story. Full of bravery, adventure, zeal, compassion, generosity, and love. His love for Jesus radiated hope and an abundance of joy to those lucky enough to know him. The passion Patrick had for life was contagious- his days filled with laughter, remarkable moments, and incredible beauty. He expressed his love in action through his countless gifts of service and generosity to the community, across the seas as he built a school for the Massai tribe in Kenya, and at home as he relentlessly served his family. He was a loyal businessman, dedicated curling fan, and believed that a stranger was just a friend he had yet to meet. He fought the good fight. Finished the race. Chose Joy, and believed that miracles do happen. He never allowed fear to manipulate him into living a boring life. And now after packing a lifetime of memories into the 48 years he was given, Patrick gets to experience heaven in all of its splendor. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Anna Plys, sister in law Karen Plys and his niece Jessica Plys.
