Patrick Joseph Schnobrich, age 67, died on December 29, 2021 after a hard-fought battle with metastatic bone cancer. Born in New Ulm, MN on February 13, 1954 to Erwin and Margaret Schnobrich, he graduated from New Ulm Cathedral in 1972 and attended Mankato State University. He started his career with MN Power at the Clay Boswell Plant in Cohasset in 1978, transferred to the Duluth area in 1988, and retired after 40 years of service in 2018. On September 19, 1992, he married his best friend and fishing partner, Laura Shaw, in Duluth, MN. They were blessed with the addition of Allison in 1995 and Daniel in 1997, his greatest prides and joy in life. Pat enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, from climbing the highest mountains in Colorado in search of elk to fishing in Alaska for salmon and halibut. Summers spent at their second home in Breezy Point, MN were an added highlight. An accomplished guitarist, he was proud that both his children and wife followed his passion for music.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Beth, his brother, Bill, and father-and mother-in-law, Paul and Beverly Shaw.
He is survived by his wife, Laura; children Allison and Daniel; sister Pam (Jeff) McColley, Franklin, MN; sister-in-law Marilyn Schnobrich, Proctor, MN; brothers-in-law Andy (Paula) Shaw, Deer River, MN and Peter (Tammy), Fargo, ND; sisters-in-law Susan (Roland) Nyberg, Colorado Springs, CO, and Nancy Shaw, Shakopee, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
