Paul R. Smith

Age 59, of Duluth, passed away surrounded by family on October 10, 2024 at Essentia Health after a brief illness.

He was born in Duluth on August 25, 1965, the son of James and Marie (Muzzy) Smith. Paul graduated from Duluth East High School in 1984.

He spent his entire life in the Duluth area working various service jobs including, Spirit Mountain, Blackwoods, Halvor Lines, and FeraDyne. There wasn’t anything Paul couldn’t fix. He loved the outdoors and was an avid skateboarder, snowboarder and rock climber, and enjoyed his summers at the family cabin.

Preceded in death by his father, James. Survived by his mother, Marie; sisters, Tracey, Dede and Julie; daughter, Breanna; son, David; nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Paul’s family would like to thank the staff and Essentia Health 10th and 18th floors for their compassionate care.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
