Phyllis Annoni

July 20, 1931 — May 15, 2017

Phyllis Yvonne Parkinson Annoni, 85, of Duluth, MN, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 at her home.  She was born July 20,1931 to Anthony and Mary Sterle.  She graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1949 and worked as a stewardess for Delta Airlines until she met her husband, Daniel Parkinson. They were married in 1957 and began a family. During this time, she also worked as a secretary for the Duluth Police Department Detective Bureau and as the executive assistant to UMD Chancellors Darland and Heller.  Daniel Parkinson died suddenly in 1985. Phyllis later became reacquainted with Anthony Annoni whom she had known as a child in St. James Orphanage. They were married in 1993 and joined together two large families. Phyllis and Anthony enjoyed traveling and spending time in their winter home in Venice Beach, Florida.  Anthony passed away in 2006.

Phyllis was very socially active and spent a lot of time with her family. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and the OK Club, French Club, Central Girls Club, and TOPS.  She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, playing cards (especially cribbage), and going to the casino with friends. Phyllis will always be remembered for her kind caring heart, big genuine hugs, and a beautiful love for her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Mary Sterle; her brother, Jack Sterle; her first husband, Daniel Parkinson; her second husband, Anthony Annoni.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Daniel (Leslie) Parkinson, Daryl (Tina) Parkinson, Mike (Lauri) Annoni, Martin (Jean) Annoni, Maria (Kathleen Nuccio) Annoni, Margaret Annoni, Marcia (Dale) Berger, and Mary Annoni; 12 grandchildren and 6 ¾ great grandchildren. Sister in law Clara Sterle, Nephew Craig (Sandy) Sterle, and many more nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 4-6 p.m. Sunday, May 21st with wake prayers at 5 p.m. in the Dougherty Funeral Home.  Visitation will continue Monday from 10a.m. to 11a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 2410 Morris Thomas Rd. Duluth, MN.  Burial at Calvary Cemetery.  Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E 2nd St. Duluth, MN. (218) 727-3555.
