Raymond Joseph Blesener passed away at 2:30pm on Wednesday 3 July 2024. Raymond served in the US Navy and was a Navigator on the A3D flying from USS Forrestal CVA59 naval aircraft carrier. Raymond was a self-taught registered Architect and over the years had several architectural firms. Raymond was president of SARA (Society of American registered Architects) and won multiple awards for his work such as: South Pier Inn Duluth, Grand Superior Lodge and Cove Point among others. Raymond was a quiet man but when you took the time to listen you would know his love was for family, friends and that he had a genuine interest in others lives.
Raymond had a stroke 2 years ago and life had changed. Through the love and support of family, Raymond was able to live independently until the final few weeks of his life. Being at home, in his house and relationships with family is what kept Raymond going day by day. If you were to ask 'Ray' about his health, he would simply say "it sucks, what am I going to do about it. Thank God I have faith and family."
Ray was proceeded by his wife Phyllis, Daughter Kathleen Anderson, grandchildren Jared and Daniel Blesener and was the last surviving member of his family of 6 siblings.
Raymond is survived by his children: Jane, Tom, Dale & Jim.
A celebration of Raymonds life will be held at Fitgers Duluth on 27 July 2024 from 1pm - 3pm. Coffee and refreshments will be available. During the service people will have a chance to share a memory or story or Raymond.
