Renee Carolyn Ekgren

Renee Ekgren, 63, died on May 9th, 2023, at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth.  She was born on November 4th, 1959 at St. Cloud Hospital.  

After graduating from Mora High School in 1978, she worked briefly at Goodwill in Duluth, followed by 19 years at Functional Industries of Buffalo, MN.

Renee really loved music, in all forms, especially the genres of country and 70's Classic Rock.  She also enjoyed playing the piano, and card games.  She never forgot anyone's Birthday.

Renee is predeceased by her father Marvin, who died in 1968.  She is survived by her mother, Carol, sisters Nancy, Karen(Dan), Amy(Steve), one niece and two nephews.  She is also survived by a caring extended family.

We extend sincere thanks to the REM Agency, and to Functional Industries of Buffalo.  Many thanks  to the caring staff at Buffalo Hospital  and Bayshore Care Center.  We were especially impressed with the excellent end-of-life care received in the ICU at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth.

A memorial service and inurnment will occur at Oster Cemetery in Waverly, MN at a later date.
