Rita M. Gray, passed away May 11, 2012 from an unexpected, short, hard fought battle with leukemia. Rita was born March 30, 1947, grew up in Superior and graduated from Superior Cathedral High School. She received a degree in accounting from UW Superior. Tom and Rita met in 1963 and have been married for close to 44 years. She worked and retired from the Duluth Housing Authority. Both Tom and Rita retired 11 years ago and have spent the time since enjoying family and friends every day. Wife of Tom Gray; mom of Rachel; mother-in-law of Bob Bugbee; grandma of Will and Erin; sister of Paula Moore; daughter of Lillian Johnson and friend of countless. We want to thank Hedy, who was with us on the night of her diagnosis. Tom Warden, St. Marys Hospital 3E Oncology PA, who was with us every day while she was in the hospital. Sister Sue, who talked and comforted Mom during her stay and gave all of us such peace after Mom was gone. Carolyn, who was with all three of us when she passed away, along with all of the nurses and staff who were there for Rita. You are all amazing people with hearts for caring and support. She would want you to know - Enjoy your family and friends - the more, the merrier! CELEBRATION OF LIFE: 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Spirit Mountain with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 1 p.m. and reception to follow at Spirit Mountain.
