Ronald Paul “Ronnie” Wilkosz, 62, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital hospice. He was born in Duluth February 1, 1955 to Stephen Frank and Agnes C. (Usiak) Wilkosz. He was known for his mischievousness and sociability. Ron enjoyed participating in Special Olympics bowling, track and field, gymnastics, and swimming, time at the Fish Lake cabin, music, dancing, and family time. He loved, and was loved, by his friends at Airpark and Maple Bend home. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ron is survived by his brother Stephen, his sisters Marcy Hunter and Mary Lou (Daniel) Murphy, all of Duluth; many nieces and nephews, including Marcy Carlson, co-guardian with Mary Lou.
The family thanks Ron’s medical providers through Mt. Royal Medical Center, Essentia, and St. Luke’s Hospital and hospice. A special thank you extends to the REM and Airpark staff.
Visitation: Friday, December 15, 2017 from 9 AM until the 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 325 E. Third St. Burial will be at Polish Catholic Cemetery. In honor of Ronnie’s love of animals, donations to Animal Allies Humane Society, or to Special Olympics would be appreciated. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth, 218-727-3555.
