Robert Bower
December 26, 1916 — December 28, 2014
Robert Samuel Bowers 98, of Duluth passed away peacefully on December 28, 2014. Bob was born December 26, 1916, in Sanborn WI to Thomas and Dora Bowers.
Bob graduated from Central High School, Bob then joined the Coast Guard/Navy and was a WWII veteran. After, his time in the service he moved back home to go back to school, which he then graduate from The University of Minnesota Duluth with a Bachelor's Degree in 1955. Bob then worked for Minnesota Employment Services for 37 years.
Bob kept very busy building his first house, he also liked being outdoors. Bob was an avid member of the Woodland Dance Club for 25 years, and the senior center and others in Duluth and Superior.
He was preceded in death by first wife, Mary Jane Bowers; parents; sister, Evelyn McKinnon; step-son, Kenneth Slowinski.
Bob is survived by wife, Marie Slowinski-Bowers; son, Robert (Sharon) Bowers; grandson, Noah (Tracy) Bowers; great-granddaughter, Zoe; step-daughter, Nancy Reijo; step-son, Robert Slowinski; step-grandchildren, Julie Armbruster and Kent Armbruster (Lisa); numerous, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
