Robert Wayne Ek Sr.

Robert W. Ek Sr. of Duluth, MN passed away on January 26^th, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was born on July 15^th, 1941, to John and Florence Ek and was married to Claudia (Anderson) Ek on November 12^th, 1960.

A graduate of Central High School, Bob spent his career at Davidson Printing Company. His personal time was spent following his passions for sports and the outdoors. Robert was self-taught in his detailed study of nature, and he enjoyed passing along his knowledge of the natural world to others, especially his children and grandchildren. His adventurous spirit, charisma, and wit drew people to him throughout his life. Bob is now at peace and can be free to roam to the woods he so loved once again. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Claudia on September 26^th, 2020, and his parents, John and Florence.

Bob is survived by his three children, Rob (Robin) of Bemidji, MN, Reina (Bill) Orebaugh of Bellevue, NE, and Tim (Amy Fullerton) of Duluth, MN; grandchildren, Tyler and Sarah of Bemidji, MN; as well as his six siblings and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

Visitation will occur at Dougherty Funeral Home on Saturday, February 3^rd, at 12 pm followed by a memorial service at 1pm.
