Robert Sabroski Sr.

Robert A. Sabroski Sr., 90, of Duluth, passed away on Tuesday September 13, 2016 in St. Luke’s Hospital.  He was born in Duluth on June 25, 1926 to August and Mary Sabroski.  Bob had attended Duluth Junior College and UMD.  He was a WWII Navy Veteran.  Bob worked for the City of Duluth in the Water & Gas Department for 35 years.  He married Mary Lou Armstrong on September 12, 1953 in Duluth, MN.  Bob was a lifetime member of the VFW, and a member of the American Legion, and St. Michael’s Catholic Church.  He enjoyed playing the accordion, fishing, hunting, camping, traveling and having fun.  The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. John Van Etta and the staff at St. Luke’s Hospital for the kind and compassionate care Bob received.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Frank, George, Edward, John, Anna, and Rosemary, daughter Nancy Engelsgjerd, and granddaughter Elizabeth Sabroski.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Mary Lou, children Mary Kay Sabroski, Daniel (Rebecca), Susan (Jim) Smart, Barbara (Greg) Gecas, Robert Jr., Jean (Nick) Revier, Alan (Suzanne), and Sarah (Frank) Selhorst, 22 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday Sept. 16, 2016 from 5PM to 7PM with Wake Prayers at 6:30PM in Dougherty Funeral Home, and will continue from 10AM until the 11AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael’s Catholic Church.  4901 E.
