Roger Clyde Olson 78, of Duluth died peacefully Tuesday, July 3, 2012 in his home, with his family by his side. ^^Roger Clyde Olson was born in Duluth, on Oct. 26, 1933 to Clyde and Helen Olson. ^^He was an army veteran of the Korean War. Roger worked at the former Lakeshore Body and Equipment as a painter. When the business was relocated to Superior, Wis., and renamed Barko Hydraulics, Roger became a supervisor until his retirement in 1995. ^^Roger was a member of the Italian American Club and a trustee on the executive counsel. As an active member, he enjoyed working on spaghetti suppers, picnics and other festivities. He was a member at St Peter's Church prior to its closing and then became a member of Michael's Catholic Church. ^^Favorite hobbies included fishing with his good buddy, Dave Campanario and Dave's son Matt, and the Bocci Club. Roger was able to travel this spring with his family which meant so much to him and the family. ^^He was pre-deceased by his parents and one sister, Blanch Rich. ^^Roger is survived by his wife, Theresa; son, Joseph A. (Sally) Olson of Hopkins, daughters, Debra M. (Dennis) Cameron of St. Louis Park, Patricia L. (Chris Mackey) Olson of Superior, Wis.; grandchildren Patrick (Anna) Holappa, Danielle Olson, Theresa Cameron, Elena Cameron, and Samuel Olson; and great grandsons Dylan and Carter Holappa. He is also survived by his sisters, Constance Sorby and Mary Lou (James) Carlson and many nieces, nephews, and friends. ^^Special thanks to Dr. Patricia Mayer for her special care and St. Luke's Hospice staff for their care and concern. ^^VISITATION: 5-7 p.m. Friday with Wake Prayers at 5 p.m. in the Dougherty Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, at 11 a.m. in St. Michael's Church, 4901 E Superior St. Burial with Military honors accorded by the Duluth Combined Honor Guard at Calvary Cemetery.
