Rolanda Jean “Lana” Johnson

Rolanda Jean “Lana” Johnson, age 67, of Duluth, died Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital Hospice.  She was born in Duluth January 3, 1951 to Roland and Elaine (Frost) Redepenning.  Lana attended St. John’s grade school, Stanbrook Hall and graduated from Duluth East High School.  She married Bruce R. Johnson at St. John’s Catholic Church on June 21, 1969.  Lana was a former long- time member of St. John’s.  She attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church-Duluth Heights.  Lana worked in housekeeping at Aftenro Assisted Living for 20 years.  She was a long-time member of AA, proud of having celebrated 15 years of sobriety on April 29, 2018.  Lana was an avid salt and pepper shaker collector.  She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.  Lana was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Susan Redepenning.  She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bruce; her daughters Tammy Johnson of Duluth and Kelly Johnson of Columbia Heights, MN; her grandchildren:  Ashley, Samantha, Kaitlin, Emily and Jared Johnson; nine great-grandchildren; her sisters Diane Stevenson of Seminole, FL and Bonnie (Dave) Gibbens of Inver Grove Heights, MN; and nieces and nephews.  VISITATION:  Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 10 AM until the 11 AM funeral service at St. John’s Catholic Church, 4230 St. John’s Ave.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.  Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth, 218-727-3555.
