Ronald Nylund

Ronald Roy Nylund, 80, of Saginaw, MN passed away in Duluth, MN on September 24th, 2020 surrounded by loved ones. Ron was born on February 7th, 1940 to Roy and Helga Nylund.

Ron graduated High School from Denfeld High School in 1958. He worked at Duluth Steam for 43 years. Along with being a lifelong farmer. Once he retired Ron spent time traveling, camping, gambling, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, dancing with his wife and mowing the lawn.

From the words of a loved one, “There just aren't too many people like Ron in this world. Ron was someone who always showed up. Life just won’t be the same without you. We were so lucky to have you in this life.”

Ron is preceded in death by his son, Kevin Nylund; parents, Roy and Helga Nylund.

Ron is survived by Wife Shirley A Nylund; sister Shirley Ronn; Brother in laws David Palmi, Bill (Delores) Palmi; sons Thomas Nylund, Scott (Heather) Nylund; daughters Liz Melander, Stacie (Brian) Oakland, and Melissa Nylund; grandchildren Matt (Annie), Darrin (Krystal), Danny, Andrew, Kayla (Sean), Tim, Jessica (Jeremy), Nick, Shawna, Shanelle, Paige, Chloe, Morgan, and Sam; along with 12 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

VISITATION:  Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 10 AM until 11 AM, followed at 11 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rose Catholic Church in Proctor.  Burial will be at Solway Township Cemetery.  FACIAL MASKS ARE REQUIRED.   Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth, 218-727-3555.
