Ruby Barrett

Ruby Jean (Iverson) Barrett’s earthly journey ended on Wednesday June 1, 2016 at Chris Jensen Care Center with those who cared for her this past year by her side, Thank You all.  Ruby was born on January 16, 1924 in Mahnomen, MN, graduated from Mahnomen H.S. and attended many of her class reunions over her lifetime.  Ruby has met her Lord and He has been in her heart and life since the day she was born.  She is now with her dear husband Bob and so many other loved ones.  Ruby was as colorful as her name.  Her humor, wit and one liners carried her through her life until its end leaving many smiles behind.  Ruby and Bob traveled America and Canada to see the beauty in God’s Landscape and wildlife.  She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church for many decades, where she was active in many areas of the church.  Before coming to Duluth, she worked at a church in LaCrosse, WI.  In Duluth she worked for Bridgeman’s in a clerical capacity for many years.  Ruby volunteered at St. Luke’s Hospital.  Bob and Ruby enjoyed being members of Camera Club.  Ruby enjoyed her Norwegian heritage. To all those of you who showed Ruby your love, friendship and kindness throughout her life please know you are appreciated.

Ruby is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Bob, her parents five siblings, and two nephews.

Ruby is survived by her nieces and nephews and there families.
