Ruby Krmpotich

Ruby Delores Krmpotich, 88, of Duluth Heights passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, in St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota.
Ruby (known as Delores for many years) was born on March 4, 1925, in Virginia, Minnesota, to Ole and Christine Nyborg. The family moved to Canyon, Minnesota, where Ruby spent the rest of her childhood. She chose a career in nursing and graduated from St. Luke's Nursing School as a registered nurse in July 1946. Ruby spent the next 16 years between the Los Angeles area and Duluth, helping her sister, nieces, and nephew and enjoying her job taking care of newborn babies in the hospital, before meeting and marrying Robert Frank Krmpotich. They started their family in Glendale, California, before returning to Duluth, where she devoted the rest of her life to her husband, children and grandchildren.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her brothers, Roland, Mervin and James; and her sisters, Inez Berg and Gladys Maibie.
She is survived by her 4 children: Bob (Bozena Eriksson) of Salem, New Hampshire; Donna (Steve) Gilreath of Las Vegas, NV; Brian (Kristina) Landa of London, England; and Al (Sherry) of Gordon, Wl; and her 7 grandchildren: Korilynn and Jason Adams, Sofia and Ella Hahn Krmpotich, Alessandro Landa, and Collin and Brady Krmpotich.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 9, 2014, from 6-8PM at the Dougherty Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Monday from 10AM to the 11AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Church, 151 W Linden St., Duluth Heights. Burial at Calvary Cemetery.
