S Donald Bodenner, 97 years old of Duluth Minnesota passed away on the 26th day of August 2024. He was born in Hughenden Alberta, Canada on November 2, 1926. The family moved to Grandy, Minnesota in October of 1937. He attended Cambridge High School and Saint Cloud State College. He married Shirley Thompson in March of 1953. They moved from Saint Cloud to Duluth in June of 1954. Don served in the Army during World War II stationed in the Pacific.
Don was the Secretary Treasurer of Wherley Moving and Storage. He retired in May of 1986 after 32 years of service. He enjoyed and made many trips to the Pas in Canada duck hunting. He also made many trips to southern Minnesota for pheasant hunting. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing and gardening.
He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years; sons, Don and his wife, Ann from Little Rock, Randy and his wife, Sue from Duluth and Kevin and his wife, Wendy from Cloquet. He had 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He was a member of the Renew Church, the Fellowship Club of Spirit Valley and the Gideons International, charities to which memorials may be sent.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E. Second Street, Duluth with a Visitation beginning at 10:00am.
