Sara Anderson

Sara M. Anderson, 24, of Duluth passed away on Sunday May 24, 2015. She was born in Duluth on February 6, 1991 to Loren and Kathy Anderson. Sara was diagnosed at age 4 with Sanfilipo Syndrome. This disease would slowly rob her of many things, it became important to "Sara Proof" our home for her safety as well as the safety of others. Sara had her own way of communicating, it may have been the twinkle in her eyes or the smirk on her face. Thanks to a wonderful speech therapist, she was able to say those three beautiful words every parent wants to hear "I Love You". Thank you Laurie. Her life was full of love and laughter. Her summers were filled with memorable golf cart rides with Dad, whether she was the caddy or the instigator of nonsense. When it became to difficult to travel and camp we filled her summer with walks along the beautiful boardwalk. She always enjoyed her visits with her brother and sister, the news of their impending visit would always put a smile on her face. She became the proud auntie to Emma and Mariah and was able to dance at her brother's wedding.
Over the years it was the love and kindness of her many caregivers that made it possible for her parents to continue her care at home. We are blessed to have had her home with us. A special thank you to all her many caregivers, especially Jen, Julie, Julie and Sandy. Thank you to all the caring staff at UDAC and DRCC.

She was preceded in death by her Uncle Bruce Smith, Grandparents Grace Busse and Buzz McAdam and Edward and Laura Anderson
Sara is survived by her parents Loren and Kathy Anderson, siblings Greg (Joanna) Anderson of Crystal, MN, and Amanda Anderson of Plymouth, MN nieces Emma and Mariah, aunts Joyce Smith, Marilyn (Rick) Scully, Wendy (Wayne) Stanfield, Roxane (Jim) Rondorf, Lynne (Dale) Drewelow, and Brenda (Mike) Skibicki, an uncle LeRoy (Beka) Busse, and many cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 27, 2015 from 5PM to 7PM in the Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E. 2nd Street Duluth, MN 55805, and will continue on Thursday in the Lincoln Park Community Church, 2202 West 3rd, Street, Duluth, MN 55806, from 10AM until the 11AM Funeral Service.
