Scott Mershon

Scott E. Mershon, 70, of Duluth, died Thursday, April 16th in the Benedictine Health Center. Scott was born in Duluth on Feb. 8, 1950 to Richard Sellwood Mershon and Dorothy (Salyards) Mershon.  He graduated from Duluth Cathedral High School and attended UMD.  He worked construction from 1968-74 and then was in sales with Food Service of America and Gamble Robinson Co.  Scott often spoke of his love for the Gunflint Trail, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and hiking, most of all spending time with his son, CJ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Dorothy and his son Nick.

Scott is survived by his son, Charles Jacob “CJ” Mershon; siblings, Dodie Mooney, Richard, Ted, Trace (Beth), Liat (Kevin) Bemish and Heidi Meyer; former spouse and best friend, Jean Mershon; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the Essentia Hospital, and the Benedictine staff for their care.
