Seth Israel Kaner, 90, of Duluth, and a longtime Lakeside resident died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012 at Proctor Diamond Willow Assisted Living. He was born in Duluth on Oct. 8, 1921 to Samuel M. and Sarah (Kenner) Kaner. Seth was a 1939 graduate of Duluth Central High School. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War ll. Seth worked for Lloyd Currie and Sons, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Temple Israel Synagogue and Adas Israel Congregation. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters: Jeannette Kaner, Harriet Lussan, Gertrude Kenner and Katherine Myers. Seth is survived by his nieces and nephew: Sue Center, Herschel Kenner, Myra Kenner, Sally Boulding, Hannah DeRousseau, Ilene Duffy and Cynthia Myers; and 11 beloved great nieces and nephews. Seths family would like to extend a special thanks to his caregiver Beverly Hughes and the staff at Proctor Diamond Willow Assisted Living for their wonderful care. FUNERAL SERVICE: 1 p.m. Tuesday (today) in Temple Israel, 1602 E. Second St. Burial will be at Adas Israel Cemetery.
