It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Kaner, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Sharon left this world on July 29, 2024, at the age of 79. She was a cherished teacher whose dedication and kindness touched the lives of countless students and colleagues throughout her remarkable career. Sharon was actively involved with the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation, whose mission is to support students in Duluth who are pursuing postsecondary education. She was also a devoted member of Temple Israel, Hadassah, and the Red Hat Club. Her legacy of positivity, strength, and kindness will be remembered with deep affection by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Sharon is survived by her loving children, Ian, Lee, and Sara (Daniel); and her cherished grandchildren, Aspen, Scarlet, and Zinnia. She is also remembered by her sister, Gail; brother, Louis (Susan), as well as her nieces, nephews, and many cherished friends. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alan Kaner, Sharon carried his memory with her throughout her life.
