Sharon Rae Neufeld, 71, of Cloquet, died Saturday, March 3, 2012, in Essentia Health St. Marys Medical Center with her family by her side.Sharon was a five-year survivor of lung cancer only to succumb to heart disease.She was born in Duluth to Lowell and Marian (Hellstrom) Hagberg Sept. 5, 1940. She was a graduate of Central High School. She married Jerry Neufeld in 1959, and they relocated to Pacifica, Calif., in 1964 where they lived until 1979. At that time they moved back to Cloquet where they built their dream home on Twin Lakes where she always entertained all of her family and friends and embraced life to its fullest.Sharon was employed for several years as the bookkeeper for Bullyans and then the financial advisor for Mr. Quickwrench, until she started her own business as Twin Lakes Home for Seniors. She cared for elderly in her Adult Foster Care Home on Twin Lakes. She was a wonderful caregiver to many and won several Caregiver Awards over the years.She served as supervisor for the Stoneybrooke Township and also secretary and treasurer of Twin Lakes Homeowners Association. Some of her hobbies included gardening, motorcycling, camping, water skiing, snowmobiling, shopping, casino and boating.She was preceded in death by her parents.Sharon is survived by her husband, Jerry, of Cloquet; children Cynthia Neufeld of Kettle River, Scott Neufeld of Duluth, Shelly (Phil) Neufeld-Pascale of San Antonio, Texas, and Nicole Hlavka of Moose Lake; her brother, Jerry (Roxanne) Hagberg, of Cottage Grove, Minn.; her sisters, Deb (Scott) Swan of North Liberty, Iowa, and Pamela Sauve` of North Liberty; grandchildren Caila, Noah, Madison and Braeden; and seven nieces and nephews; and, of course, her little dog, Rosie. Sharon loved to travel and during the past five years she was able to travel many times to visit family and friends in all of her favorite warm vacation destinations.
