Shirley Cuypers

Shirley Lavone Cuypers, 85, of Duluth, died Friday, April 24, 2020 at her home.  She was born April 24, 1935 in Longmont, Colorado to Thomas A. and Delia (Cunningham) Ralston.  Shirley married Eugene F. Cuypers on April 11, 1952 in Port City of Portsmouth, VA. For many years, Shirley sewed fur hats and blankets.  She enjoyed gardening and her hummingbird feeders.  Shirley was a “Great mom” and loved by many.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Ronnie, and her husband of 68 years, Eugene, on April 18, 2020.  Shirley is survived by her nine children and many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  A private family graveside service will be held now, with a public celebration of life for Shirley and Eugene to be held at a later date.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.  Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth, 218-727-3555
