Shirley Dougherty

Shirley M. Dougherty, 80, of Duluth, passed away on Saturday September 27, 2014. She was born in Duluth on May 7, 1934 to David and Olive DeMars. Shirley had worked in housekeeping at several local hospitals. She was an active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and its Circle Club, and birthday card group. Shirley enjoyed volunteering at Gloria Dei, playing bingo, and doing word searches.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth, brothers Bill, Jack, and David DeMars and her sister Margie Nyquist-Severson.
She is survived by her son Donald (Janice) grandsons Andrew (Kim), Matthew, and Christian (Megan), niece Sandi Johnson, great-niece Mya, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday October 2, 2014 from 10AM until the 11AM Funeral Service in Gloria Dei Lutheran Church 219 N. 6th ave. E. Duluth, MN 55805. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home. 600 East 2nd street, Duluth, MN 55805. 218-727-3555.
