Signe Linnea Hultgren, age 94, Kerrick, Minn. died Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Proctor. She was born in Duluth on June 21, 1918 to Gustav and Mary (Jacobson) Peterson. Signe had worked in the Chicago sewing factories during the war years. She moved to Kerrick after marrying Edwin J. Hultgren. Signe was very involved with the Kerrick Community Church, serving on many church committees. She served on the Promoters Club Election Board Committee for many years. Signe, with her husband Edwin, were custodians at the Kerrick grade school where they loved the kids. Signe was known for her many sewing skills, as well as her baking and cooking. Signe has been a Proctor resident since 2007. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; two brothers; and her husband Edwin in 1983. Signe is survived by her sons Louis (Joyce) of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Jeffrey of Kerrick; her daughter Barbara (David) Hanson of Duluth; two grandchildren: Chris and Dale Hultgren: great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Signe's family would like to thank Diamond Willow and St. Mary's Hospice for their exceptional care and loving support. Friends may gather on Tuesday, October 30th. from 10 am until the 11 am memorial service at Dougherty Funeral Home. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Kerrick, Minn.
