Steve Homa- Feb. 3, 1929 – Dec. 29, 2022. The last member of the Homa family of four brothers and three sisters from Hibbing, MN. After H.S., Steve joined the Army and served in the Korean War, a member of American Legion Post 413. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Bemidji State University and a Master Degree in Counseling. Steve began his teaching of Science/Biology in Mott, North Dakota and then at Le Sueur, MN. In 1967 he became a teacher of Science/Biology at Grand Marais/Cook County Schools and eventually the full-time counselor there. During the summers he was a part time wilderness guide outfitter to the Boundary Waters area out of Ely, Mn. In 1969 he purchased a small cottage home on Lake Superior in Hovland, MN. He eventually built a cabin on North Fowl Lake facing the Canadian Border. Steve volunteered to help the church, friends and others in many ways. In the end he showed his kindness and generosity.
