Steven Stabe

Steven R. Stabe, 55, of Roberg Rd. passed away unexpectedly at St. Luke's on Tuesday morning, May 12, 2015 with his wife and brother by his side. Steve was born January 14, 1960 in Duluth to Jack and Margaret "Peggy" Stabe. He graduated from Central High School and went on to UMD. He served in the US Navy Seabee's. Returning to Duluth, Steve started Specialty Design of Duluth, designing and building homes in the Duluth Area. Steve and Julie also operated "The Rose Man" rose shop.
He married the love of his life, Julie on June 30, 2001. He was a member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church; he enjoyed fishing, bird hunting, wood working and building things. He had an eye for perfection in everything he did in life.
Steve was a man that was larger than life; he was loved and cherished by all who had ever known him and his love for his children was unfathomable.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack and his sister, Margaret "Peggy" Stabe.
Steve is survived by his wife, Julie; children, Alexa and Darby Stabe, Adam (Karri) Youngblom, Haley (Christian) Youngblom and Ashley and Aaron Youngblom; granddaughter, Reese Elizabeth Youngblom; his mother, Peggy Stabe; siblings, Mary Gordon (Tim); and Tom (Jean) Stabe; brother in law Bruce Gordon; nieces, Kelly (Joe) Barnstorf and Janelle Baily, Mya, Kara (Eric) and Naomi; nephew, Kevin Stabe; several grandniece's and nephews and his German Shepherds, Roman and Salomon.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7pm in the Dougherty Funeral Home, with Wake Prayers at 6:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10am at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 325 E 3rd St. Duluth, with military honors accorded by the Duluth Honor Guard.
