Taylor J. Packer, 27, of Duluth, passed away on January 6, 2018. He was born July 9, 1990 in Reno, NV. Taylor had many talents. He enjoyed drawing, dropping a few rhymes here and there and skate boarding. He also had a special skill of knowing just how to playfully annoy the crap out of anyone he targeted. He could twirl anything from a pencil to a Taekwondo staff. Taylor was also gifted at Taekwondo. Through the instruction of Master Jackson of the DoJang, he earned his black belt (in 3 years) at the age of 16. At 18, he had won 3 Grand National Championships for the state of NV and was one of only 12 participants per weight class invited by the US Olympics committee to train for the upcoming Olympics. Although he had many demons to battle, most importantly, he had a heart of gold and a kind soul that touched many lives. Taylor is survived by his mothers, Kimberly Packer and Cynthia Packer; sisters, Morgan and Emerald; Grandfather, Daniel L Packer; Grandmother, Roberta Andruss; daughter, Leahla; sons Darion, Leon and Joshua; aunts, Melissa Packer and Summer Garcia; uncle, Danny Packer; and many cousins. VISITATION: Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from 12 noon until the 1PM memorial service at Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E. Second St., Duluth, 218-727-3555.
