Teodor Swierc

Teodor Jan Swierc, age 80, of Duluth, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Essential Health St. Mary’s Medical Center.  Teodor was born on October 31, 1935 in Jelowa, Germany to Janina and Jan Swierc.  He served in the Polish Armed Forces for three years.  After service he was a construction foreman for seventeen years.  He married Paulina Paluch in 1960.  Together, their family came to the United States from Poland in the spring of 1981.  Teodor was a fabulous cook and worked at popular restaurants around Duluth such as Augustinos.  All his life he was a very hardworking man who put all his effort into his properties.  Teodor was a happy and talkative person who liked to joke about his army days and trips to Arizona.  He is survived by his wife, Paulina; two sons, John (Alicja) and Bogdan (Wanda); grandchildren:  Damian, Marta and Dominik; and great-grandson, Elijah.

Visitation:  3-5 PM Sunday, October 16, 2016, with wake prayers at 3:30 PM at Dougherty Funeral Home.  Visitation will continue on Monday, October 17th. at 9 AM until the 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 325 E. 3rd.
