Thelma Schaumberg

Thelma May Schaumberg, 86, of Duluth, died Saturday, October 31, 2015 at home. She was born May 25, 1929 in Duluth to Irene (Wick) and John Peterson. Thelma married Carl Simon Schaumberg on June 9, 1951 in Duluth. She had worked at St. Luke's Hospital in the X-Ray Department, as well as St. Mary's in Housekeeping. Thelma enjoyed old cars, knitting and crocheting. She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings: Lily, Anna Elvira, John, Walt and Ed Peterson. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Carl; her children Pat Leyes, Brian Schaumberg, and Diane (Brian) Mesedahl; her grandchildren: Christine Leyes and Krystal Howes; and her great-grandson William Howes.
Visitation: 12 noon until the 1PM funeral service on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Dougherty Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oneota Cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E. Second St., Duluth, 727-3555.
