Thomas Storms

Thomas Anthony Storms, 79, of Duluth, died Friday May 4, 2012, in Essentia Health St. Marys Medical Center in Duluth.He was born June 6, 1932, in Duluth. Tom was a graduate of Duluth Cathedral High School and later UMD.Tom was employed as a branch manager for Commercial Credit for over 40 years and was also a salesman at Kolar Buick for many years. He loved to help people buy cars and had many loyal customers.Tom was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church and the Lester Park Golf Club. Golf was his passion, and he was a great supporter of golf from the youth golfers on up. In 1969, Tom started the Bear Island Golf Group known as BIG today. He was recently inducted into the Lester Park Golf Club Hall of Fame for his love of the game.He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.Tom is survived by his cousins and his many friends in his golfing community.VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, in Dougherty Funeral Home Chapel, and 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial Wednesday, May 9, in St. Michaels Catholic Church. Military Honors accorded by the Duluth Combined Honor Guard. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Duluth.
