Timothy Davern

Timothy Richard Davern, 69, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born on July 9, 1946.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Born and raised in Duluth, he was happy to return to Duluth permanently in 1986 where he lived only blocks from his childhood home. He enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking and grilling on the weekends, as well as fishing and reading. He would spend his weekends working on home improvement projects around the house and working in his workshop. He was the epiphany of the "jack of all trades". He will be most remembered for his sense of humor and storytelling abilities. He was known for his immense kindness and caring personality, always willing to help others out and lend his support to those in need. He will be dearly missed by all who came to know him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Dennis and Donald.
He is survived by his wife Charlene of 42 years; their daughter Colleen (Joel Folger) Davern; his sisters Kathy Davern and Linda (Mark) Johnson; many nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends Richard Bakke and Tom Tonkin.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Essentia Health and Benedictine for their compassionate care.
