Timothy Paul McCaffrey, 68, of Centennial, CO, passed away on Monday, February 26 surrounded by his loving family. Tim lived most of his childhood in Duluth, MN. Having spent the last 20 years of his life in Colorado, Tim embraced the beauty of the Rocky Mountains while cherishing memories of his childhood in Duluth.
Tim was a devoted father to Alex and Chloe McCaffrey, and a beloved brother to Jim and Tom McCaffrey. He was preceded in death by his loving mother and father, Angela Delores McCaffrey and Albert Joseph McCaffrey.
As an accomplished attorney, Tim earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth and pursued his passion for law at Mitchell Hamline School of Law. Later in life, Tim began taking college courses for subjects that he found interest in. Over several years, Tim eventually earned a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. Tim embraced the advent of computers and emerging technologies early on and liked to call himself a "hardware guy" to describe his enjoyment in working on electronics and computer boards. After leaving the world of law behind, Tim spent the last year of his life pursuing his interests and working as an electrical engineer.
Tim lived a life of simplicity and purpose. His love for animals was evident in the companionship and mutual admiration that he shared with his cherished pets, and the wildlife around his home in Colorado. There were few things that Tim loved more than to be at home listening to jazz music, with his 3 cats snoozing nearby.
Above all, Tim will be remembered as an incredibly intelligent and clever man, as well as a kind and patient father whose guidance shaped the lives of those around him. His legacy of compassion and wisdom will continue to inspire all who have been fortunate enough to know him.
A burial service honoring Timothy Paul McCaffrey will be held at Calvary Cemetery located at 4820 Howard Gnesen Rd, Duluth, MN 55803, on April 5th, at 2:00 pm. All friends and family are welcome to attend and pay their respects.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
