Wallace "Wally" Kolquist

Wallace “Wally” Kolquist, 93, of Duluth Passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Solvay Hospice House with family at his side.
Wally was born on March 20, 1924 to Esther and Thure Kolquist in Duluth. He was a life-long resident, spending many winters in Florida after his retirement.
Wally attended school in Duluth and was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. He was in the Army, served in WWII, and was a former co-owner of Harbor City Oil Company, along with his brothers.
Wally was united in marriage to Caryl Zuck in 1949 and together they raised six children.
If Wally wasn’t hobby farming, fishing, or boating you could find him in his garden or greenhouse. He also cherished his family more than anything. One of Wally’s most unique memories was meeting a sitting president George W. Bush.
Wally was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roy, Kenneth, Clarence, and Fritz; sisters, Ann, Florence, and Alice; and his son Kevin.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Caryl; children, Lynn (Mike) Kreidler, (North Oaks), Tim (Sue) Kolquist, (Cindy Kolquist), Jon (Sue) Kolquist, (Florida),  Lori (Paul) Hagen, (Eden Prairie), David (Diane) Kolquist, (Hermantown); brothers Clifford (Audrey) Kolquist, Roger (Barb) Kolquist; Sister-in-laws, Pat Kolquist, Dawn Kolquist and Joyce Zuck; 20 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and their families.

The family would like to thank the staff at Edgewood Vista and Solvay Hospice House for their compassionate care.
