William Pierce

William C Pierce, 78 of Duluth, passed away after a 15-year courageous battle with cancer on August 23, 2018.  Bill was born in Wyandotte, MI, to Clifford and Grace on July 2, 1940.

He graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1958 where he met the love of his life JoAnn and they were married for 58 years. He worked for MDOT for 36 years and retired in 2002.  During his retirement, he enjoyed golfing, gardening, working on projects, and spending time with his family and his dogs.  During his leisure time he had a passion for cheering on UMD Hockey and the Green Bay Packers.

As with the legacy of the Green Bay Packers, his legacy will live on in the hearts he touched and those he loved dearly.

The family would like to thank Dr. Steven Kuross, Goldcross, and the Rice Lake Volunteer First Responders.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, JoAnn; children, Ted, Colleen Aldridge; his cherished granddaughter, Emily Aldridge (Andy); siblings, Patricia Ness, Tom, and Richard; many nieces, nephews, especially niece, Michelle Rozell and grand-nephew Jared Rozell; and he will be greatly missed by granddog, Brandi.

Visitation will be from 5-7PM, Monday, August 27, 2018, in Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E 2nd Street, Duluth, MN 55805, with a private burial later in Forest Hill Cemetery.
