Willian Whitney

William A. Whitney, 89, of Sunshine Lake, Duluth, MN passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the Chris Jensen Nursing Home.
Born October 21, 1928, William's parents were Gwin A. and Charlotte W. Whitney of Duluth. He attended the Hotchkiss Preparatory School and the Colorado School of Mines. His working life was devoted to designing and producing the highest quality ready-mixed concrete for Whitney Concrete.
William was active in the Minnesota Air National Guard based at the Duluth Airport and in the Gnesen Volunteer Fire Department.
Nancy Dolezal was the love of his life and whom he lost several years ago.
Bill is survived by his younger brother Gwin R Whitney and several nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held by the family. Remembrances may be sent to the Gnesen Volunteer Fire Department, 4504 Datka Road, Duluth MN 55803.
